Another first for our 3 Globetrotters; a Zoo! Fort Wayne is home to some amazing children’s activities, but the Zoo has got to take the cake.
The grounds are meticulously cared for, and you can tell that each beautiful animal is lovingly cared for.
Admission: Adults ($16) Children ($10) Senior ($12)
Hours: daily from 9-6pm
Upon entering the zoo, we took our tokens that were given to us upon entry and voted for our favourite conservation project. All three kids went voted for the penguins 🙂
Parking is free onsite and there are a number of rides that you can utilize for just a few tokens ($1 per token and machines are located around the grounds) such as pony rides, the carrousel, sky safari ride and the ZO&O train railroad.
Charlie insisted on riding the Pony, and well, it was pretty much the cutest thing we had all ever had seen.
There are also a number of animal experiences located throughout the zoo. We had the opportunity to feed the giraffes as well as play with the stingrays.
I love when Zoo’s allow children to get up close and personal with the animals. The giraffes were spectacular and it’s such a great way to inspire little minds!
Replicas of ostrich eggs!
Watching the sea lions zip around their pool was definitely a highlight! What playful creatures they are.
There is a courtyard located in the center of the Zoo where they have a number of food vendors for you to grab lunch.
Our explorers are ready to go on their safari.
Hands on learning for everyone!
A special thanks to Visit Fort Wayne! The 5 Globetrotters were invited guests of Visit Fort Wayne. As always, all opinions are our own.
